Why a Blog…?

We have all heard the saying, a picture says more than a thousand words. I agree with it, but with a small caveat. If the picture is viewed together with a few words about the said picture, it provides context which can immensely increase the depth at with you connect with the aforementioned picture.

I have been creating photographs for over a decade and while a lot of my initial work had been about creating beautiful imagery, of late, I’ve developed this deep desire to creating some cohesive bodies of work, a connected series of work if you will, that are supplemented with a short story or narrative of what exactly was going on in my mind, when I decided to make those photographs. In simpler words, I just want to convey what I was feeling or imagining, when I decided to photograph that subject, in a text form.

It aims to be an outlet for creating cohesive visual stories that are supplemented by narrative, of my experiences with photography, music or life in general. I haven’t defined a boundary condition, so I am hoping to surprise myself as well.

"Der April macht was er will"

…is a German weather saying that basically says "April does what it wants." It really is that way, because April weather is a bit of a rollercoaster. The weather can go from a sunny 30 degree C to under 0 degree C in less than 24 hours with rain, hail and snow in between. This was one such day, and the only signs of life, was this little bird.
